09:04 pm: And now the other OTHER shoe drops
Ya pretty much had to see this one coming.
Word is now that Bree has started seeing someone behind Andrew's back (the guy she dumped my son Chris for), and that they've broken up.

So, she's with Chris hot-n-heavy for about 6-7 months and then dumps him cold for another guy.
Now, 6 months after that, she dumps THAT guy for someone else...

Anybody see a pattern?

Oh well, so it goes.  She's been texting Chris 4-5 times a day, and he's just blowing her off.  Good move, I say!

On the fuzzy front, Bandit has been on a real roller-coaster lately.  She has insulinoma, and has been relatively stable, but now she's crashing every couple of days.  Part of it is that she's had the runs, so she keeps getting dehydrated.  This will be the third day in a row that she's gotten 25-30cc of fluids.  The other fuzz are healthy though, and I've worked out an arrangement to buy doses of lupron from the shelter at $10/ 100mcg, so I can give it myself.  I'm starting to get IM injections down.

Addie, my adrenal foster is doing really well.  Still hasn't integated with the rest of my crew, but she loves exploring the house every night when she gets her run out of the playpen.

06:34 pm: Starting to feel human again
Today I felt pretty decent, especially after taking a SHOWER!!! Oh bliss!
I couldn't get the incision wet for 48 hours, and can't stand on that leg without the brace, etc. so we had to do some rearranging.

I still run a fever of 100 or so in the evenings, but it's getting better.
Had the same thing last time and the surgeon says it's "normal, to be expected as long as it's not over 101."
I can put some weight on the knee already, and bend it some, so things will get better.

The stupid physical therapy place is upstairs without an elevator! How brain-dead is that?
Well, if I could get up the stairs for my shower, I can get up them for therapy.

I just hope I'm alert enough to work from home tomorrow and not all zoned out like I've been.
Switching from percocet to ibuprofen has definately helped that part. :-)

The "good" thing is that since this is my left leg, I'll be able to drive as soon as I can climb in & out of the car.

10:08 pm: ferts 1, puppy-pad 0...
Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time.
Our fert-room (doubles as skin-kid's bedroom) has a door that opens in.
Of course, that's the favorite place in the whole room for the ferts to poop.
Can't put a litterbox right there, cause the door bumps it out of place.

When the door swings in, well the poop is spread. gross!

So, after shampooing the carpet AGAIN, I figured that lots of people use puppy training pads around their litterboxes, why not put one where the door swings?

It probably lasted 10 minutes. The door caught it and bunched it up, and then the ferts tunnelled into the soft lining, and decided it was a sleepsack :-P

Still looking for a better solution...

04:23 pm: Testing 123...
Time to catch up, since I finally got a break...
Last Friday, I took (and passed) a red-belt test in taekwondo.
This test was for the second stripe on my belt, which qualifies me to test for my black-belt.
Pretty big deal.

This was a bigger deal for me, because:
1) I tore my ACL last winter, and had it rebuilt in January, so I'm just now getting back to pretty close to full speed.
2) This test had two people testing FOR their red belts, which is always a grueling test. Major cardio workout.

I thought about bailing out several times, right up to the point where I walked out to start testing.

The test itself was 50 minutes of hard-cardio TKD with basically no breaks. I was whipped, but I stayed standing. Some of it wasn't pretty, certainly not as good as before I blew my knee, as I tend to "protect" it. But, I made it through.

To cap it off, when I did my board break, it broke into three equal pieces on the first kick!

The one big bummer was that Debbie decided not to show. She said that after watching me blow out my knee, she just couldn't watch, because it made her to nervous. How does she think I felt??? I got an excuse about the parking lot being too full, but I know that wasn't the reason - she's shown up at the halfway-break before, when the kids all leave. I wish she'd just be up-front.

Oh well.
Tonight, I get the promotion, and I get to read my tester's comments!

08:59 pm: Welcome
Welcome to my journal.

I'll be opening the entries mostly to friends so that I can speak freely without random folks twisting them out of context.
